Betty URGENT
Betty came to us when her owner had to enter a nursing home. She was one of 6 dogs and 40 cats who were taken in by the shelter. Betty has a sweet nature but a degenerative bone disease left her unable to walk. Through the help of Susan Harris of Sylvia's Animal Sanctuary in Bath County, a no kill shelter in Delaware rescued her and is actively pursuing medical attention and adoption for Betty. They love her dearly!
Ellie
We just got this email from Ellie's owner: Ellie had very little hair and weighed 5 pounds when we adopted her in 2007. She had so many parasites inside and out that the vet felt we needed to work on her health issues one at a time. She had a heart murmur also, but it is gone now. By the start of 2008, she had pretty red hair that was wavy, but not long. Today, she is a healthy 10 pounds, and she has a LOT of lovely long silky hair. Here she is playing in the snow in 2009. We love her so much, and we are so thankful that you saved her!!!
Hans
The foster mother of Hans has fallen in love with him, as has her dog, Ella. The adult daughter of the foster mom will be adopting Hans so Hans can continue to be a part of their family. Quite a success story for a beautiful boy who was shot!
